Imagine. A small street in front of the Luxembourg Gardens where Man Ray, Hemingway or Jacques Prévert once put their suitcases. It's in this bohemian Paris with a sweet, nostalgic scent that Studio Razavi signs the renovation of an 145 square-meter apartment welcoming a Franco-American couple. On the program: a warm and timeless ensemble where designer furniture and works of art reign supreme.
Located in a typical Parisian building, the apartment of 145 square meters needed a little renovation. Narrow traffic, darkness and dated decor now make way for a warm and ergonomic set bathed in light. A residence well in its time that perfectly combines architecture and contemporary design with the unique charm of the capital.
Architects think of the new spatial organization according to the lateral positioning of all the windows. Indeed, the facade facing west, it was essential that natural lighting can be transmitted from one room to another without hindrance. Thus, thanks to the removal of many partitions, the spaces are expanding and the lighting spreads evenly, like the two living rooms arranged in a row to the west of the apartment.
In the heritage of the architectural heritage of Paris, the studio Razavi based on the winning combination of parquet flooring chevron and white walls decorated with moldings. If these old apartments are usually equipped with heavy wood furniture, the masters of works here decline the wood wall or built-in storage, thus extending the tradition while inscribing it in a trend of more contemporary purification. A nod to the luxurious works of the neighborhood, gray Grigio Carnico marble dresses the bathroom and the work plan of the elegant kitchen is signed Fior di Pesco.
While the project reinterprets the codes of traditional bourgeois housing, architects and landlords showcase works of art and design, mixing African masks, meridians and antique beds with paintings, sculptures and contemporary furniture.
The perfect marriage between past and present.
