The CREAGORA headquarters of the Alliance Nationale des Mutualités Chrétiennes, located in Champion near Namur, highlights this new mode of expression that are custom-made bends and ribbed profiles. The architectural challenge: to make this large volume, a book that releases vitality and dynamism while being welcoming and protective.
The program illustrates the Mutualities' vocation to make the site a pole of research and social innovation. A successful mission thanks to the 3 200 m2 made-to-measure VMZINC® seams in ribbed profiles.
Prototypes of this solution were made by the VMZINC® teams to validate the design of the profiles and test the different levels of perforation. The choice of zinc material and the ribbed technique bring lightness to the project. Combined with the PIGMENTO® RED EARTH color, they reinforce the organic appearance, as if the building was one with the terrain.
Some profiles have been perforated at the bay windows and on the roof, which houses the technical facilities. From the inside, these perforations create subtle shades of light and light, and protect from the sun's rays. A guarantee of comfort and well-being for the occupants when the weather arrives. Perceived from the outside, the volume is transparent and fluid.
The architects wanted to preserve the perspectives and the green spaces, and to limit as much as possible the impact of the building on the residential environment (located at the crossroads of a highway, housing and a rural space). CREAGORA is today the figurehead of a neighborhood that is beginning its development process.
