Studio Weave : Roof Garden

A Londres, sur le toit du prestigieux London College of Fashion, le studio Weave a réalisé "Roof Garden", le nouvel aménagement du rooftop. Un projet coloré où le bois multicolore dessine l’espace, devient jardinière ou banc, et vient adoucir la structure bétonnée du bâtiment.

Cet espace de partage s’habille de bois dans un motif à chevrons qui rend hommage au travail du textile cher à l'établissement. Les couleurs vives de cet étonnant caillebotis ont été rendues possibles par une combinaison de teinture et de peinture. Un aménagement qui joue sur l’alternance de végétaux, d'assises et de tables qui offre un point de rencontre privilégié aux étudiants.

Sur ce projet, Eddie Blake du studio Weave précise :

"We have made an advanced decking wrap-around installation. It's super bright and super dynamic. The London skyline is there, there's a nice concrete building, and then this real burst of colour. We had already been playing around with various weaving ideas, so when LCF approached us with their heritage in textiles we wanted to try to apply some of this thinking. The whole thing was done with reference to basket weave – trying to make timber look as if it's woven. The timber is just low-cost off-the-shelf larch decking. The idea was to find a super quick way of making something beautiful and colourful."
